    AQXDA0317MPMW - 2nd line

    * AQXDA is the 'core code'. As a general rule when comparing 'core codes' that have the same starting letter (ie A), then the higher up the alphabet the other letters are, the better it is. Thus AQXDA should be better than AQXCA. However, when the starting letter differs, the one with the starting letter lower down the alphabet seems to do better, even if the other letters are higher. Thus AQXCA should do better than JQXDA. So the best cores seem to always start with an 'A'.

    * 0317, the 4 numbers after the core code refer to the date of manufacture. The first 2 numbers refer to the year and the second 2 numbers refer to the week. In the above case 03=2003 and 17=week 17. Generally the newer the processor the better it should be. So you might find a week 17 AQXDA that overclocks better than a week 10 one. Though some weeks tend to be better than others.

    * MPMW, the 4 characters AFTER the manufacture date some are suggesting might also be an indicator on how good a core is. That ones with 'MPMW' seem to be considered the best by many, but no real evidence to suggest they are.

E alguns resultados desse stepping do teu amigo: An XP2500+ 'AQXDA' 0317 MPMW has been seen to overclock to 2.3GHz @ 1.55v, 2.35GHz @ 1.625v and 2.53GHz @ 1.725v, but with watercooling. So seems as if these newer cores are overclocking much better than the earlier ones. With ice added to the watercooling coolant, it achieved 2.61GHz @ 1.80v and 2.7GHz @ 2.0v.
