    Hi,

Some measures we can suggest which should help, firstly, please ensure
mainbiard jumpers are set correctly for you CPU and set BIOS defaults, but
also check 'assign IRQ to VGA' is enabled, 'AGP Fast Writes' is disabled.
    Please do not overclock CPU.

Also would suggest driver re-installation : ensure all graphic card
installations have been removed from add/remove programs, restart without
the drivers CD and windows will detect new hardware. Click 'Next' to install
automatically. If prompted to search the web, select 'No' and click 'Next'.
XP should confirm it has not installed any software for the hardware, click
'Finish'. Please ensure up-to-date mainboard drivers installed before
    graphics.

    Regards

    Tony

    Problem:
    Hi, I´ve just purchased 2 Geforce 4 MX 4000, i have one XFX geforce 4 MX 440
AGP 8X 64 MB DDR TV Out on my pc, so my MX 440 running 3d Mark and other
games like Unreal tournament 2003 has a excelent performance, but the MX
4000 its the worst VGA i ve ever installed here, it running at 275/285 mhz
has just 1300 points on 3dMark2001 SE (using different detonators and
forcewares) and my MX 440 (that is a XFX too) has at least 3800 pts running
    at 275/285....

So.. my question is, are the drivers the problem? or i ll have to change my
VGA card, cause i have not payed the price of a MX 440 to have a Geforce 2
MX 400 (i had one, and the MX 4000 its running worst).

I hope you give me some light, cause i m getting nervous with this
performance, if you have a sollution, please e-mail me, i like the XFX vga
cards (had 2 of them) and i always sell XFX (i have a store) but this MX
4000 aren´t with the performance of the others XFX vga cards.

Please help me, cause i m sure this card can show me more than this....

if it helps, here are the specs of my pc.

    Asus A7N8X-X
    Duron A-bred 1.6 ghz @ 2.0 ghz
    512 MB DDR 333

i have tried the following detonators and Forcewares:
    40.71
    44.03
    53.03
    52.16

    thanx for helping.

Agora mandei outro e-mail em resposta a resposta deles....

    thanx for replying,
I have already exchanged the MX4000 with MX400 that is 100 times better, but
i can´t figure out some things... why releasing this MX4000 if it is worst
than MX440? I read some reviews and people said that it do not support
DirectX 8.1, so i m confused what is new in this VGA. And reffering to your
reply, i can´t figure out why overclocking CPU have with the performance of
    the VGA card.

"As it is mentioned at Digitimes, Dell expects to move to 256Mbit (16Mbit x 16) DDR graphics memory from the current mainstream standard of 128Mbit (8Mbit x 16) DDR due to the relative high price of the 128Mbit memory, according to Taiwanese DRAM maker sources.
The price of 128Mbit DDR graphics memory has risen sharply, up by 40% to around US$3.50 from US$2.50 one month ago. Currently a 256Mbit DDR die goes for around US$5. Four 256Mbit die (at a cost of about US$20), instead of eight 128Mbit die (at a cost of about US$28), can be used to provide 128MB of memory.
According to sources, Dell is considering a switch from offering Nvidia’s GeForce4 MX440 based on the NV18 core to the revised NV18B core in the fourth quarter. Nvidia is designing the revised core to support 256Mbit DDR in conjunction with its value graphics processors."
