Albatron AGP6600GT: This is of course and AGP based GeForce 6600 GT that features 128MB of onboard GDDR3 memory. While this graphics card does feature a nice big aluminum heatsink, designed to cool the core, there is no memory cooling what so ever. This is disappointing given how impressive the core heatsink is. The card does feature a DVI connection though it does not support the VIVO function. The package is average featuring just one relatively unknown game (ARX Fatalis) along with a demo game pack and a copy of WinDVD. Other than this the card is quite standard, featuring the specified frequencies for both the memory and core.

Albatron PC6600GTV: The PCI Express version of the Albatron GeForce 6600 GT was quite impressive. The card produced impressive performance throughout the testing phase using the standard NVIDIA specifications for a GeForce 6600 GT graphics card. The PC6600GTV is one of the better dressed GeForce 6600 GT cards, featuring a copper based heatsink over the core. The GDDR3 memory was also passively cooled via two bronze heatsinks. While this Albatron package was again quite average, the inclusion of the VIVO (Video In/Video Out) function was quite impressive.

ASUS Extreme N6600GT: This PCI Express graphics card can come in three variations, the standard one is the Extreme N6600GT. The other two are know as the Extreme N6600GT Limited Edition and TOP Limited Edition. These two cards are supposed to be available in limited areas and will not be sold in Australia. The cards come pre-Overclocked and the Extreme N6600GT Limited Edition features a copy of Doom 3. Other than this the three cards are much the same in their appearance. The Extreme N6600GT is an impressive looking GeForce 6600 GT graphics card that can back up its stylish looks with killer performance. The card does not support the VIVO function, but it does ship with Joint Operation, ASUS DVD XP, Power Director and Media Show.

ASUS Extreme N6600GT/TD: The ASUS AGP GeForce 6600 GT is again an impressive looking graphics card. This card is also available as a TOP Limited Edition product featuring improved core and memory frequencies. Again this version will not be sold in Australia and should only be available in limited quantities. The card ships with XPand Rally, Joint Operations and Media Show. The performance of this graphics card was quite good, though it did fluctuate from one test to another. For example the Far Cry testing saw the card produce the strongest average frame rate of all thirteen cards, where as we witnessed the complete opposite in 3Dmark2001 SE.

Chaintech SA6600G: The Chaintech SA6600G is designed for the AGP 8x interface and is again another impressive looking product. The card features a nice big aluminum heatsink that cools the core quite well, although the fan could do with a few more RPM’s. While the VIVO function is not supported by this graphics card it does offer one of the best packages around. The user will find a whole heap of CD’s in the SA6600G package. There is a copy of WinDVD5, WinDVD Creator2, WinRip 2.1, Adobe Photoshop Album 1.0, Home Theater 2.1 Lite, DVD Copy 2 Lite and a Game Demo Pack (5 in 1). However there is also a full version copy of Painkiller included to really sweeten the deal.

Chaintech SE6600E: This Chaintech GeForce 6600 GT utilizes the PCI Express bus and is quite an affordable product. Said to cost around $200 US, makes this one of the cheapest GeForce 6600 GT graphics cards available. Both the core and memory are cooled via aluminum heatsinks. While the core heatsink is actively cooled the memory heatsinks are passively cooled. The graphics card itself looks quite impressive and the performance was on par with the rest of the field. Again the VIVO function is not supported, though this will not affect most users.

eVGA e-GeForce 6600 GT: This eVGA product is the most basic of all the GeForce 6600 GT cards in the roundup. The cards appearance reeks of reference design featuring the green PCB and generic NVIDIA heatsink. The cards package is almost non-existent featuring an out-dated driver CD and a skimpy manual. Unfortunately, the cards price tag is nothing to get excited over either, as the card will cost about $220 US. Furthermore, availability is not all that great and I was lucky to score this review sample. The performance of the card was average though it did keep on par with what the other cards produced. Overall, the eVGA e-GeForce 6600 GT is nothing special and should be retailing for no more than $180 US for it to be a viable solution.

Gigabyte N66T128D: Gigabyte has been busy unleashing a whole heard of GeForce 6600 GT based graphics cards. The N66T128D is based on an AGP design and is said to cost a modest $210 US. While the card comes with just one game and a single software title, Gigabyte has included their own impressive overclocking utility. Known as V-Tuner II this software is designed to help the user easily and quickly overclock their graphics card. The card does not support hardware monitoring, nor does it offer VIVO support, which was a little disappointing to learn. The memory chips are also not cooled, though the HSI and core are cooled via two heatsinks. The card itself looks fantastic and is an impressive GeForce 6600 GT AGP product.

Gigabyte NX66T128D: The PCI Express version is also quite good looking, though again the memory chips are not even passively cooled. Again the package is quite slim featuring just one gaming title and one software title. However, the Gigabyte overclocking utility V-Tuner II is included. The game that is included is the 3-CD full version of Doom 3 which is a $50 US bonus. There are few GeForce 6600 GT cards that come with Doom 3 in the standard package. Other than this the card is quite standard and does not feature hardware monitoring or VIVO.

Gigabyte NX66T128VP: This is possibly my favorite GeForce 6600 GT graphics card featuring a very elaborate cooling design. This is Gigabyte’s flagship GeForce 6600 GT product featuring two gaming titles, two software titles, an overclocked core and memory, along with a completely silent cooling design. Through the use of heatpipes Gigabyte has been able to eliminate the need for active cooling. Furthermore the card features a 15MHz overclocked core and a 150MHz overclocked memory frequency. This makes the NX66T128VP a member of the TurboForce family. While the card does idle quite hot, at about 55 degrees, it has not run into any stability problems after weeks of testing.

Leadtek WinFast PX6600: Like ASUS, Leadtek has decided to offer an overclocked more “extreme” version of their GeForce 6600 GT graphics card. However, this article has included the standard WinFast PX6600 featuring the specified frequencies. The card itself is quite standard looking featuring a green PCB with no memory cooling. The core features a fairly large aluminum heatsink which is cooled by an equally large fan. While the card does feature HDTV-Out, it does not offer any support for VIVO. The cards bundle is quite good featuring a DVD Player, WinFox II, Cult 3D, Coloreal Embedded, Coloreal Visual, and Coloreal Bright. There are also two games included being Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell.

MSI NX6600GT-VTD128E: The MSI GeForce 6600 GT is possibly the best value graphics card in this roundup. MSI really have worked hard to deliver the most feature backed GeForce 6600 GT graphics card the market has to offer. The cards design and appearance gets 10/10 featuring large copper heatsinks on both the core and memory. These copper heatsinks look very impressive on the red PCB, making this one of the most visually pleasing GeForce 6600 GT graphics cards. The bundle is massive and at $210 US I do not know how MSI have included so much. The package includes full version games such as URU, XIII and Prince of Persia 3D with Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow for Japan only. There is also a 14-in-1 demo pack. The software list is massive featuring WinDVD Creator Plus, Virtual Drive 7 Professional, Restore It 3 Professional and Foreign Language Learning. Then there are the MSI software titles and there are simply too many to quickly list. Overall, an impressive card and certainly one of my favorites.

Prolink PV-N43UE(128LD): This is much like the eVGA card all over again, the bundle features a manual, driver CD, two cables and a VGA/DVI dongle. The price of the card is the same as the eVGA version at $220 US making it rather poor value. The card is built on a green PCB board and features no memory cooling with a very standard looking core heatsink. Overall, this product was nothing special and should not retail for anymore than $180 US.
