    Mapas do Secret Weapows

    Os mapas do Secret Weapows, são muito bons, vale a pena

    A IGN fez uma matéria sobre todos os mapas da nova expansão de Battlefield 1942, a ser lançada. Entre os grandes destaques, além dos novos veículos e armas, com certeza, a inclusão de objetivos em 6 dos 8 mapas, no total, é o maior deles.

    Conforme já pudemos perceber no recente mapa lançado Battle of Britain, e no Demo do mapa Heelldoorn, os objetivos vão favorecer diretamente o jogo em grupo. Há mapas em que se as ações dos times não forem minimamente coordenadas, causarão a derrota irremediável do time desorganizado. Isso prova q BF nao eh game para simples fragers, o jogador pode nao pegar nenhuma bandeira nem matar ninguem mas se destruir os misses V2 do mapa Heeldorn, por exemplo, ele será considerado o herói do time! Apesar de q provavelmente irá precisar da ajuda do mesmo!! Mas ai vai a materia:

    So today, we're going to be taking a look at each of the maps in Battlefield 1942: Secret Weapons of World War II. There are eight total, six of which hold objective based missions for players to sink their teeth into come this fall. In short, the objective based missions all put one of the Allied sides in a position where they must assault and destroy some object or objects of the Germans. All of these objects can take a considerable pounding before being destroyed and can be repaired on the fly by engineers. While we've seen this with the Battle of Britain map that was released a few weeks back, these objectives tend to be much more centralized making them quite a bit easier to defend. The attackers will start out with a large number of tickets that will decrease gradually over time and with deaths, whereas the defenders will start out with 100 tickets, which will only decrease as the objectives take damage or are destroyed. Death means nothing for the defenders.
    So here they are, with the objective based maps first and the conquest only maps at the end. Take a look and let us know what you think about the maps and the demo especially if you've been playing it.

    EAGLE'S NEST

    MAPA

    Description: The Eagle's Nest was the last bastion of the German High Command. From this mountain top retreat, the Germans would launch a final counter attack if the war were to turn against them. Your team will win if your opponent's ticket's reach zero. The U.S. can reduce the German tickets by destroying a safe containing military secrets and a heavily fortified door that leads to a loading bay. The Germans can reduce the U.S. tickets gradually be defending and maintaining the objectives.

    The Eagle's Nest is certainly a hell of an uphill battle for the U.S. forces in any of the modes, but the objective based modes look to be even harder than the rest. In the objective based mode, two bases will not be able to be captured. The U.S. base in the middle of the map at the bottom of the hill and the German base sitting on the front side of the tunnel leading to the Eagle's Nest itself. That one particular base will make things very difficult for allied troops. While it's possible to get run up the side of the mountain and attack the Eagle's Nest entirely on foot, any vehicles will have to make their way through that tunnel, which is narrow and easily defended. Inside the tunnel are extra cubby holes for ammo and medical supplies as well, so infantry will have to be sent in to ferret out any enemies hiding within. Once up to the base, the U.S. forces had better have a bunch of engineers with them to make sure that door and the safe can.
    The regular conquest mission will eliminate the permanent bases, but will continue the uphill struggle for the Americans, although the new tanks and rocket turrets will help greatly in the effort, although the mortar tanks on the German side will give anyone rushing uphill pause. This map also allows victory through both attrition of tickets and capture of every spawn point on the map.

    ESSEN

    MAPA

    Description: Essen is the site of a major weapons production facility. The Allied Forces are planning a major bombing campaign to destroy the factory. A team can win by reducing the opposition's tickets to zero. The British can reduce the German tickets quickly by destroying the fuel silos, inside the factory. The Germans can reduce the British tickets gradually by defending and maintaining the fuel silos.

    SILOS

    Essen brings a huge distance between the starting Allied base and the town of Essen, which holds the factory where the silos sit. Thankfully, there's a good amount of aircraft waiting to transport troops to the town including the new C-47 transport plane. While it isn't maneuverable, the 50 cal gun attached in the belly of the beast is good for giving some suppressing fire and the fact that it acts as a mobile spawn point so troops can parachute down onto any part of the map, makes this beast well worth the trouble. But the British are in for a hell of a fight. Not only because they have some serious AA guns, including their new mobile AA tanks, but because the objectives lie across the river and a lone bridge and inside the factory on the other side. These silos also will take a hell of a pounding before they go down and can be heavily defended by a flurry of respawning German troops. The Germans will also have some neat tricks on their side with the inclusion of 3 different jet packs and a guided rocket that (once you get the controls down) can take down planes before they even get off the ground.

    In regular conquest maps, this should be a very fun experience. With both of the main bases so well defended, the middle three spawn points will be under heavy contention with neither side having a severe advantage. Lots of building hopping and street warfare here like was so fun in Berlin and Stalingrad. One last little interesting note is that you'll find only German vehicles spawning inside the confines of city regardless of who controls the spawn points.

    HELLENDOORN

    MAPA

    Description: Hellendoorn was the primary launch site for the V2 Rocket. Four rockets have been set on the launch pads, aimed for Britain. A team can win be reducing the opposition's tickets to zero. The British can reduce the German tickets quickly by destroying the V2 rockets. The Germans can reduce the British tickets gradually by defending and maintaining the V2 rockets.

    V2 ROCKET EXPLODINDO

    Many of you are undoubtedly familiar with this particular map at this point thanks to the recently released demo. It's a rather large map with 7 spawn points total scattered around the map. Several of the amphibious vehicles open up new routes to capturing these points than would have been available before this expansion. Once again, the objectives revolve around destroying some new toy of the Germans, this time, four V2 rockets at the south end of the map. Each of these suckers is just as hard to destroy as any of the other objectives in the other maps and they're all centrally located around the last, uncapturable spawn point for the Germans.

    Most of the heavy action in the conquest mode seems to revolve around the same southern bridge that protects the V2 rockets in objective mode. The Northern bases will change hands a lot from sneaky troops flying behind the big battles, but securing those bottom bases, especially because the southwestern base is only accessible by amphibious or air vehicles while the V2 base is held, is of utmost importance. Hellendoorn, like Eagle's Nest, allows for victory by capturing all of the spawn points on the map.

    KBELY AIRFIELD

    Description: The Germans are housing secret technology, reportedly an alien spacecraft, inside a hangar on the Kbely airbase. A team can win by reducing the opposition's tickets to zero. The British can reduce the German tickets quickly by destroying the secret aircraft. The Germans can reduce the British tickets gradually be defending and maintaining the secret aircraft.

    PATTULHA ALEMÃ SOBRE O AEROPORTO

    Yet another tough battle for the British in this expansion. With very little to start, the British will have to spread out and take more spawn points as aggressively as possible. There are very few ways into the Kbely airbase and all of them will be well defended. Add to the British woes the incoming threat of the German planes dropping bombs and things get a bit hairy. Once the Brits finally make it past the gates and into the airbase, two alien looking aircraft await destruction. Tanks can roll up to the partially opened hangars and do some damage, but that will really only make them sitting ducks. Tanks will probably have to be used for ground support and not direct assault on the objectives. That will have to be left to squads of engineers and assault infantry. Engineers will also have to keep those precious few tanks up and running to take care of the Germans that will constantly respawn in the airbase.

    Conquest will see most of the battle across the middle of the map with the road that runs just south of the airbase home to the three neutral spawn points. It isn't impossible to go all the way around the base and attack from the north, it's just a long damn way.

    MIMOYECQUES



    Description: The Germans have almost finished a V3 rocket site on the French coast near Mimoyecques, a perfect location from which to bomb Britain. The V3 complex must be destroyed by the U.S. before it becomes operational. A team can win by reducing the opposition's tickets to zero. The U.S. can reduce the German tickets quickly by dropping explosives into the V3 air vents. The Germans can reduce the U.S. tickets gradually by defending and maintaining the V3 air vents.

    C47 EM VÔO


    Like the recently released Battle of Britain map, the Allies will start separated from the final objective by a large expanse of water. Both naval and air transport are available for the assault, but it won't be easy with the heavily armed coastline on the other side. Lots of anti-aircraft will help the Germans protect the final goal while the U.S. tries to gain a foothold on the Mimoyecques shoreline. The Germans have to be careful however as the C-47 air transport will be perfect for dropping U.S. engineers and soldiers right on top of the V3 facility where they can begin throwing explosives in the vents. The mobile spawn point will definitely keep the Germans on their toes while bombers and fast attack planes swoop in to do even more damage. The battle certainly won't be lost for the Germans once the U.S. does manage to grab a spawn point or two as the V3 facility sits atop a hill with one uphill entrance. Germans will also be able to hide out in the trenches that line the V3 rocket facility and wait for U.S. troopers to come by and take out the vents. This should be a hard fought battle to the very end and looks like it could be one of the more difficult maps to defend.

    Conquest is just as difficult for both sides for the same reason. The middle town is a crazy place to be. While the U.S. permabase sits on the other side of the water, their mobile spawn point means that they can quickly deploy troops to take capture a flag quickly. But the Germans have a much shorter and direct route from their base atop the rise into town and the various capture points.


    TELEMARK RESEARCH BASE

    Description: The Telemark Facility housed several generators, used in their top secret research of heavy water. A team can win by reducing the opposition's tickets to zero. The British can reduce the German tickets quickly by destroying the generators inside the facility. The Germans can reduce the British tickets gradually by defending and maintaining the generators.

    THE RESEARCH BASE


    This last of the maps with the objective based missions is a big one and has a serious amount of water that restricts movement a bit. Both sides have the help of their new amphibious vehicles and most of the fighting will be centered around the northern landing above the research facility and the southern bridges where the British can bring their tanks. While it will be harder to assault the facility from the north, the Germans would be stupid not to watch the amphibious assault as capturing the base just north of the research facility would mean big things for the British advance and cause the Germans to split even more of their attention from the important southern bridges. Once the British get close enough to the research facility to get inside, they had better have brought a lot of support and, once again, a lot of infantry to storm the building. The Germans are very likely to have a lot of engineers laying dynamite traps inside the building waiting for unsuspecting infantry so it's very likely the first wave of troops will be completely obliterated. The machine guns mounted protecting the approach the facility will most definitely have to be take care of swiftly as well. Once inside, the Brits will have to be quick about knocking the two generators down as like all of the other objective based maps, the final spawn point can not be captured and enemy units will be continuously spawning, making things difficult for those without enough explosives to finish the job.

    This is a big map that will undoutedly have a lot of giving and taking of bases, especially the middle island that, while not home to any serious firepower, can be a good staging point for rear attacks. This conquest map also allows for victory through capture of all of the spawn points like Eagle's Nest and Hellendoorn.

    PEENEMUNDE

    MAPA

    Description: Peenemunde was used by the Germans for cutting edge missile research. Your team will win if your opponent's tickets reach zero. Your opponent's tickets will gradually reduce if you hold three control points.

    CRUZANDO UMA DAS PONTES

    As one of two maps that don't contain objective modes, Peenemunde is a large map with plenty of water and plenty of bridges. The main bases hear are permanent so the fight will be completely over the middle three. Each side has quick access to one capture zone with the last isolated on an island in between the starting points of each forces with one bridge from the central inlet. Expect most of the fighting to center right in the middle of all three capturable spawn points. Infantry beware.

    GOTHIC LINE



    Description: The Gothic Line was a part of Germany's defesnse against the Allied surge towards Berlin. Your team will win if your opponent's tickets reach zero. Each team can reduce the other team's tickets gradually by controlling a majority of the control points.

    OLHANDO PARA BAIXO DA LINHA

    The last map on the roster for Secret Weapons brings another vertical battle. The Germans sit atop a hill once again while the U.S. has to fight its way uphill. Def guns sit overlooking the roads up to the German starting base, but they're range is limited to serious distance. Closer targets will be under their range of fire so they'll become less useful as the game progresses. Three spawnpoints sit in the valley leading up to the German starting point with bases and a small town along the way. There's a lot of different types of fighting to be had in this map with the locations of the capture points placed as they are. This is one of those maps where you could die a lot and never actually see where the shell originally came from.
