    [14:06] <@Thunak> Before we start, could you briefly describe your respective roles in the development of SCPT?
    [14:07] <@gunther> Well, basically I was in charge of thewhole content of the game.
    [14:08] <+Arnaud> I also was in charge of the online mode of Pandora, on the production side
    [14:08] <@Thunak> Let’s begin, then. The session will be moderated: only the SCPT team and I may post.
    [14:08] <@Thunak> This is how we’ll proceed: you may send your questions only to me and I will relay them. Please do not send them directly to the SCPT team, they will only answer to mine. To send me a question double-click on my nick (Thunak) on the right hand column and a new window will open in which we may chat.
    [14:08] <@Thunak> We will then choose the questions according to their interest and relevance. Please remember this chat is exclusively dedicated to Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow. We will not answer questions not related to this game.

    [14:09] <@Thunak> (MeneM): Where did the idea of such a MP game originate from?
    [14:10] <@gunther> It's benn quite a long time... back to 1998 I guess... After I saw the trailer aof a famous stealth action genre I start wondering how this could feel to be the one searching ad not hidding...

    [14:11] <@Thunak> (Mohko): how are you going make sure that guards won't just camp near the objective?
    [14:11] <+Arnaud> of course there are more objectives per map than mercenaries, so camp is not possible

    [14:12] <@Thunak> (Karot): Will spies have some form of a "lethal" bullet?
    [14:12] <@gunther> The only way spies can kill there opponent is using stealth : drop on enemy or break his neck.

    [14:13] <@Thunak> (SwordFish): does the MultyPlayer maps will be areas from the SinglePlayer mode, or it is new maps that are only for multy?
    [14:13] <+Arnaud> All the levels have been specifically designed for a multiplayer counfrountation...
    [14:14] <+Arnaud> but the levels have all the basics you can find in a good single player level
    [14:14] <+Arnaud> tons of pipes, air vents, secrets passes

    [14:14] <@Thunak> (Alumenad): I've seen that the shadows and the dark are cruciale for the spies in the MP game. I saw that they can hide in the shadows from the merc's. But what if the Merc -player- turns up his Brightness? Can he see the spy then?
    [14:15] <@gunther> We thought anticipates that, for sure : without entering complx techno issue, I can say that character entering shadows...
    [14:16] <@gunther> get bassically the same color than the background.
    [14:16] <@gunther> So f you turn up the gamma all you'll get will be a homogenic "stain" of darkness on screen

    [14:17] <@Thunak> (Venom06): Hi. 1.Will the Voicecommunication on the PC version be the same like on the X-Box? So i can listen to Mercs or talk to them when i grab them`?Or do you have to use a 3rd party tool like Roger Wilco to Communicate.And will the Mercs or Spys get muted when they are grabbed or get killed so the cant tell the other one where the spy/merc is going.
    [14:17] <+Arnaud> all you can do with the headset on xbox is possible on pc, either with USB hedset or one pluuged on your sound card
    [14:18] <+Arnaud> you can also send typed messages to your team or to everybody... as in a lot of PC games


    [14:18] <@Thunak> (Spikecast): What three words would you use to describe Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow?
    [14:19] <+Arnaud> TENSION. MERCENARY. SPY

    [14:20] <@Thunak> (Pimmy): Hey, my questions: How do the rankings work for xbox live?
    [14:22] <+Arnaud> to reach the top of the rankings you'll need to beat me !!!!
    [14:22] <@gunther> That's pretty complex indeed... without entering details it uses the same method as the chess competitions.
    [14:24] <@gunther> To be more specific it's moderated by the level gap beetween you and your enemies (+teamates)...
    [14:24] <@gunther> And the number of opponents.

    [14:24] <@Thunak> (Joko): How many maps are there for multiplayer?
    [14:25] <+Arnaud> 8 levels, and 3 game modes available...

    [14:25] <@Thunak> (MeisterPat): Will there be Bots for the Multplayer??
    [14:27] <@gunther> From the beginning of the production we wanted to have only human players'opposition. According to me, it insures a lot of replay value, strong situations and emotions that ven the best programmed AI bots could not evn emulate.

    [14:28] <@Thunak> (Xrenity): How long did the process of making this Multiplayer thing take?
    [14:28] <+Arnaud> in terms of pure development more than one year and a half,
    [14:28] <+Arnaud> but in terms of playtests and balancing more than 5000 hours of game...

    [14:29] <@Thunak> (Devlar): Will Splinter Cell exploit Punk Buster Technology, to avoid Cheating in Multiplay?
    [14:29] <+Arnaud> Yes punkbuster is activated in the PC version of Pandora tomorrow...

    [14:29] <@Thunak> (Saiyayenkee): when you die, do you have to wait for the next round to respawn?
    [14:30] <+Arnaud> just the time to take a breath and get back in the action...
    [14:30] <+Arnaud> but you have a respawn number limit that you can set yourself in non ranked games
    [14:31] <@gunther> Yes, you do. The reason is to prevent a lemming-like attitude running staight to the objectives as you guess rather than focalising on tactics... On the other hand neutalizing a foe will have to ive you appropriate reward...

    [14:32] <@Thunak> (arcon): Can mercenaries jump?
    [14:32] <@gunther> Yes, to a certain extend. But indeed this is not their biggest strength.
    [14:33] <@gunther> Actally they are more focused on laying traps (mines between other things) or to destroy and eradicate intruders (they even get an extra for that !).
    [14:34] <@gunther> And for that, you do't have to jump high, don't you ?

    [14:33] <GreetServ> [Vergo] <MysticDwagon>: so why are your 4 foot lines shorter than the rest of the worlds 4 foot lines?

    [14:35] <+Arnaud> It has always been a tradition at Ubisoft to provide premium content or downloadable content for its players... but I can't tell you right now, how many levels, and when there will be available.. or I would have to kill you

    [14:35] <@Thunak> (gamerscircle): Recently there's been a rumor about a 3 vs 1 match, with the 1 being a spy, is this true?
    [14:37] <+Arnaud> I've tried to beat some of my friends with a 1vs 3 configuration... it is good tension, but it is definitely hard when your opponents know well the game.
    [14:37] <@gunther> Well, you can do that if you feel strong or lucky enough but basically the game's been tuned and balanced on a 2vs2 basis.

    [14:37] <@Thunak> (mickzz): Why did you guys choose for ShadowNet and not for the 'Sam Fisher-look'?
    [14:38] <+Arnaud> Sam Fisher is a lone operative, and his role is to leave no foot prints or evidence
    [14:38] <+Arnaud> the sahdownets work in close cooperation for missions that need more than one agent.
    [14:39] <+Arnaud> And for us, there can only be one Sam.

    [14:39] <@Thunak> (Tesla7zap): Will the dev team be playing on the public servers once Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow is out?

    [14:39] <+Arnaud> definitely yes !

    [14:40] <@Thunak> (FsF|M0rph3uS): can mercs see the light on the back of the spies?
    [14:42] <@gunther> No actually this feature was set on the original game for the player to locate his character in any circumstances. On the multi, only you and your teamate will be the lights on you charaters. As for the merc, everybody will see anything on their outfit...
    [14:43] <@gunther> This even a condition for victory if you pay special attention to their helmet's color (red or blue) as they reveal in what vision modes they're currently.

    [14:44] <@Thunak> (Hickz): When you snap a neck, will you hear the bones crack? (esse cara me parece psicopata uahhua)
    [14:45] <@gunther> For sure ! And as you all know you already you can even go dramatic by whispering something sweet before ("and crack goes the vertebrae")...

    [14:46] <@Thunak> (Beheaded): will i need to buy any special kind of headset to use online?
    [14:47] <+Arnaud> You can use any kind of headset with a mic, if you choose one compatible with your sound card it will be ok ! USB headset work well too.

    [14:47] <@Thunak> (NeoThermic): will there be any training for the multiplayer??
    [14:48] <@gunther> Yes, we included 2 tutorials (1 for the merc and 1 for the spy) to teach you the basics but you'll have o sharpen your skills on the field...

    [14:48] <@Thunak> (ga66el): Will PC players and Xbox players be able to play together?
    [14:49] <+Arnaud> nope. Xbox players will play on xbox live (this is a microsoft requirement), and PC players will play on Ubi.com or on LAN

    [14:52] <@gunther> That's linked to a previous point about camping... The spawn points are isolated and safe of merc for spies.

    [14:52] <@Thunak> (DisTurBeD_MuNkY): With the Spy Bullets the description says you can hear enemy communications, is that whats being said over XBox live headsets? And how will this be implemented in the PC version?
    [14:54] <+Arnaud> on the PC version you'll use the Spy bullet in the same way as on xbox and you will then need to push "H" on your keyboard to hack communication of your ennemies...
    [14:55] <@gunther> In the game, you have 2 ways of hacking other team communications : using the snipe device (merc)/ binoculars (spies) or after an enemy is tagged with spy bullet (spies) / spytrap (merc).

    [14:55] <@Thunak> (Maidus): Will there be throwable things like bottles or tins?
    [14:56] <+Arnaud> You won't be able to use such things online, but to create diversion as a spy you will be able to use a new gadget "alarm snare"
    [14:57] <+Arnaud> You can shoot an alarm snare on a camera for instance adn it will alert the mercenary

    [14:57] <@Thunak> (Masta_Killa): (Multiplayer question) can you use someone as a human shield in Multiplayer?
    [14:57] <@gunther> Yes you can.

    [14:59] <@Thunak> (salmon_fl): will there actually be an mp demo? if so when?

    [14:59] <+Arnaud> There will be an MP Demo (RESPOSTA QUE TODOS QUERIAM SABER.)

    aff tava vendo o site do splinter cell,

    o site US as news sao 1 pouco diferente das do site UK

    o unico chat OFICIAL que ia ter ja teve que eh este. infelismente ele n respondia mts perguntas intrigantes.

    Se voce leu o forum la e viu akele log pode levar mt a serio, pois montar 1 log eh facil.

    tem mt gente la sacaneando as outras. ta foda =/

    espero que saia logo este demo pra ver logo como ta isso.

    Essa de usar alguém como escudo humano já tinha no SC1... muito massa. Agora isso no multiplayer vai apavorar.

    pelo jeito so vao lancar o demo qndo o jogo em si ja tiver saido na metade do mundo uhauaauhaauuauaa ou qndo eles receberem 1 ameaca d bomba por prometer a semanas e n lancarem porra nenhuma
